Women bolster Cuomo’s big lead in polls

Democratic incumbent Andrew Cuomo holds a commanding lead in the governor race — thanks to women.

Female voters back Cuomo over Republican rival Rob Astorino by 32 percentage points — 57 percent to 25 percent, a Quinnipiac University poll found Wednesday.

Among men, Cuomo leads by just five points — 44 percent to 39 percent.

Overall, ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚCuomo leads Astorino 51 percent to 31 percent with 9 percent preferring Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins.

Cuomo supports abortion rights, which Astorino opposes. The governor has made the most of that by attacking Astorino’s position while creating a new Women’s Equality Party to attract women voters in November.

In another plus for Cuomo, the state B🦹usiness Council endorsed h🐠im Wednesday.

The race for state attorney general is more competitive, with Democratic incumbent Eric Schneiderman holding a 46 percent to ❀34 percent edge over✨ GOP challenger John Cahill.

In the race for state comptroller, likely voters back Democratic incumbent Tom DiNapoli o🐷ver GOP challenger 56 percent to 28 percent.

The election is on Nov. 4.
