Former Gov. George put his pđresidential campaign on hold after his son-in-law suffered a life-threatening stroke during a flight, aides revealed Thursday.
Pataki hâadđ announced on Tuesday that he was leaving the campaign trail for a âfamily emergency.â
In a statement issued Thursday, the campaign said his daughter Allison Pataki and her husband, David Levy, a doctor, were on a flight that had left Chicago for Seattle for a scheduled vacatiđŚon when Levy suffered theđ stroke.
Their plane was diverted to Fargo, ND, where Levy was in intensive care before being transported home to Chicago, whę§ ere he will remain in intensive care at Rush University Medical Center.
âThis episode is a shock to us all, as David, only 30 years of age, is a strong young manđ¸ who enjoyed excellent health,â the statement said. âWe are praying for his recovery and welcome everyoneâs prayers and good wishes.â
