People drank ‘Scalia’s tears’ to toast gay marriage this weekend

Waving rainbow flags wasn’t the only way people celebrated the historic gay marriage ruling over the ꩲweekend. Several places around the country turned dissent into deliciousness by mocking the court’s outspoken conservative, Antonin Scalia, by turning his pain into menu items. Here’s a sampling from ꦑaround the country:

Scalia’s tears drink special

Chi꧋cago’s Geek Bar let patrons revel in the decision by creating a special cocktail called Scalia’s Tears: It contained liqueur, triple sec, apple bitters and, of course, some salt.

Not to be outdone, i♒n Queens m🌊ade one of their own. The Astoria bar offered up $3 shots of “Scalia’s Tears,” which they described as “bitter and salty” (a margarita shot with salt and bitters).

Philadelphia’s Morningꦬ Glory diner went even bigger, serving up a “Scalia Is a Douche” breakfast special over the weekend. The meal of 🧔scrambled eggs, andouille sausage, potatoes and a biscuit .
