Watch a ‘Homeland’ SWAT team swarm a Bed-Stuy brownstone

New Yorker Claire Danes is bacšŸ§øk home filming the sixth season of ā€œHomelandā€ ā€” anšŸ’Ÿd, in an exclusive look at some of the location shooting, she talks about what that feels like.

Danes praises the showā€™s writers for ā€œanticipatingā€ what is goingšŸŽ‰ to be ā€œculturally and politically relevantā€ while reflecting that the city ā€œis a crucial place in terms of our relationship to terrorism.ā€

This season, Danesā€™ character, Carrie Mathison, is living in a brownstone on beautiful Clifton PlacšŸ§øe in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Locationā™ manager Ryan Smith said the show is ā€œtrying to balance iconic and local New Yorkā€ by going into the outer boroughs.

The behind-the-scenesļ·½ video shows an excerpt of one upcoming episode in which a SWAT team invades Carrieā€™s duplex apartment, with members of the Emergency Services Unit scurrying across rooftops. Shā™•e is also seen getting out of a taxi on Broadway in Williamsburg. The first two episodes of the series also go inside the infamous Marcy Avenue housing projects.

ā€œThe show does embrace the New York that is now. šŸ»The challenge is making it not look like a postcard,ā€ Smith says.

ā€œWe have things that are very real to New Yorkers,ā€ he adds. ā€œź¦‡Itā€™s the city in its curšŸ’›rent climate.ā€
