How Elon Musk is already solving LA traffic congestion

Elon Musk wants to solve LA’s traffic ওproblems — one tunn🐽el at a time.

Musk dreams of digging tubes underneath the cit💃y in the attempt to find an easier and more time-efficient solution to urban gridlock.

He officially broke ground last month☂, using his very own boring machine, or “mole,” to dig a 30-feet-wide, 50-feetꦇ-long and 15-feet deep “test trench,” .

“We have no idea what we’re doing — I want to be clear about that,” the Tesla founder explained last 🦋week.

“We’re just going to figure out what it ♕takes to improve tunneling speed by, I think,꧙ somewhere between 500 and 1,000 percent,” he said.

The billion🌳aire has been griping about the traffic situation in LA for months, often taking to Twitter to voice his disgust.

“T♈raffic is driving me nuts. Am going to build a tunnel boring machine anᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚd just start digging,” he .

“I am actually 😼going to do this,” he said the nex𒀰t day.

Speaking to Tꦜhe Verge via Twitter, Musk delved i🐻nto why he was so determined to dig below the city.

“Without tunnels, we will all be in traffic hell forever,” he said. “I really do think tunnels a💧re the key to solving urban gridlock. Being stuck in traffic is soul-destroying.”

It’s unclear whe🍸ther Musk intends to use the tunnel for a subway or road travel.

Last month, the SpaceX CEO tol🉐d a Twitter user that it starts “across from my desk at SpaceX” and extends to “Crenshaw and the 105 Freeway, which is 5 mins from LAX.”
