Andrew Tate, 36, and his 34-year-old brother Tristan were arrested on Thursday night for alleged sex trafficking froâ m āą a $700,000 Romanian warehouse they turned into a full-time living space.
Andrđ ew purchęĻased the property â located in the town of Voluntari, outside of Bucharest â in 2017 when he first moved to Romania.
Born Emory Andrew Tate III, the social media influencer and professed misogynist said his decision to leave the United Kingdom was 40% based ođˇn avoiding rape charges as policđĨe investigated abuse allegations.
Andrâew had moved to the UK when he was little after his father, Emory Tate, struggled to find work in the United States.
âSo by age 11 I was [the] man of the house,â he has said, claiming he soon started workinīˇēg in markets while still at schoolāŧē.
In one video explaining why he moved from the UK to Romania, Andrew said: âIâm not a rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want. I like being free,”
Photos of his Romanian compound, which he once gave viewers a tour of, show a very obvious bachelor pad, with sđleek furniture and contđemporary style throughout.
One room holdsđ a high-tech display of monitors with multiple security-video feeds and another space has a James Bond-themed glass wardrobe that shows off an array of āļŖguns and black jackets.
A wood-paneled room with leather armchairs appears to be the same area where Andrew recorded his widely mocked critique of climate activist Grđeta Thunberg in which he was seen smoking a cigar.
He also owns a large chessboard as a tāą ribute to his late dad, who was an international master of the game and among the topâ active players in the world in 2015 at age 56.
It is from this home that he ran “Hustler’s University,” according to the Guardian, where about 127,000 men pay him $47 a month for his tips on wealth and life in general.
Previously releasđed arrest video shows officers with battering rams andđˇ guns sweeping through the dark villa before escorting Andrew into a car.
Prosecutors have alleged both brothers are suspects in a reportedly organized crime ring that “sexually exploited” , who were allegedly recruited, housed and forced into performing pornographic videos for sale online.
Officers recovered various weapons duriāŊ§ng the raid, including several guns, a knuckle duster, a hatchđet and swords of varying lengths, in addition to stacks of money.
Andrewâs rise to fame started in 2016 when he appeared on the UK reality TV show đĨâBig Brother.â
Seven days in, he was booted from the show after a video surfaced of him whipping and beating a girlfriend for looking at other men. A second video emerged of him telling a woman to count the bruisâđes he inflicted on her.
He has said that if a man in a relationship has sex with someone else, itâs ânot cheating, itâs exerciseâ â then claimed that if the female partner âeven talks to a duáŖde, itâs cheating.â
Andrew’s views led to numerous online bans, starting in 2017 when â at the height of accusations against disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein â he was suspended by Twitter for saying that women should âbear responsibilityâ for being sexually assaulted or raped.
Regarding his wealth, Andrew has said that he made his first million when he was 27 â “then I had a hundred million dollars by the time I was 31,” he told Adin Ross in a streaming interview earlier this year. âI became a trillionaire quite recently âĻ the worldâs first trillionaire,â he claimed, even suggesting he had compiled more than three times the bank of Elon Musk at the latter’s richest.
