The two dozen motorhomes illegally parked outside of a Bronx Little League field have been booted from the area after The Post spotlighted the makeshift, migrant-friendly “trailer park” last week.Ā
The 26 motor homes and camping trailers that languished along Allerton and Bruner avenues near Astor Little League in Baycš¦¹hester were removed by the NYPD and city Department of Sanitation on Monday, along with their accompanying generators, propane š tanks, and rank trash piles, according to relieved parents and coaches.
āI feel excelšlent. . . . our parents are happy because we have enough parking and the area is super clean,ā said Eladio Rodriguez, the league president.
āItās a huge relief and we are thankful. . . šø. that something was done. It just shouldnāt have taken that long,ā noted baseball dadą± Steven Grskovic, 46.
A caravan on Bruner Avenue that housed 35-yeź¦Æar-old Venezuelan migrant Gilberto Laguna aź§nd four other men was among those that were relocated from the area.
The group had been living in the trailer for two weeks since leaving a West 42nd Street Manhattan shelterź§.
The city agencies didn’t say where the trailers were moved.
