The wounded 16-year-old girl made it to a fire station up the street fź¦rom the park and reported the āshooting to firefighters stationed there, who then called cops and began treating her, .
Police quickly arrived at the scene and saw the girl’s brother, 13-year-old Aayden Hayes, lying in the parking lot pavement with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to the hospital where he died, police ą“said.
The girl, who was notš± identified, was also takenš to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police found an a suspect, later identified by authority as 15-year-old DeāAnthony Osasosifo, walking aloź¦Æng the highway ašbout a half mile up the road from the park and took him into custody.
In an interview with investigators, he admittą“ed to having the gun and shooting it during the fight.
The gun was later located ź¦by an ATF snifź¦fer dog along the route Osasosifo had fled.
The 9mm semi-automatic pistol was reported stolen fromš³ a veā¦hicle in Murfreesboro in 2023.
