Mrs. Maisel h♊ad it easy. Amazon’s fictional housewife-turned-comedienne in “” found success too quickly, according to real-life stand-up comic Casey Balsham. The potty-mouthed performer has been hustling for nine years in New York’s comedy clubs.

“I litera🥂lly was running 🐽off of the train, and I got on stage and I was, like, sweating and I was spitting,” she said, describing a typical night bouncing between gigs in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The New York Post followed Balsham around town — from SiriusXM to the in the East Village — to show what it’s like to be a woman in comedy in 2018.
