Symbolizing the bipartisan atmosphere of the event, Mrs. Bush and former President Bill Clinton annou💞nced to the crowd of about 1,000 attendees at the Sheraton New York a public-private partnership to deliver clean water to sub-Saharan Africa.

Called 🌌the Play Pumps Alliance, the clean-water plan puts merry-go-rounds on water pump🍷s.

“Play pumps are fueled by a limitless energy source – children at play,” Bush said, to laughter, about the plan, which is being underwritten by $16.4 million from federal government agencies, as well as the Case Foundation and the MCJ Foundation.

The hundreds of people at the conference – including world leaders, business titans and celebrities – were there to be “agents of change . . . and to lead by example,” said Clinton, who launched the conference series to promote individual involvement in world issues.
