TEEN PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN RADIO NEWSMAN’S MURDER

The 16-year-old accused of killing longtime WABC radio newsman George Weber pleaded not guilty today during his arraignment in Brooklyn — although prosecutors claimed the teen told cops he “didn’t mean to kill” anyone.

John Katehis was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Katehis’ lawyer Jeffrey Schwartz claims his client is a victim because he was lured to Weber’s apartment after seeing an Internet ad posted on Craigslist looking for sex in exchange for $60.

Prosecutors added that Katehis opened up to cops once he was arrested — and admitted to the brutal crime.

“I didn’t mean to kill George. That was an accident,” Katehis said, according to police.

Police claim Katehis told them that Weber, 47, pulled out a knife, that the teen eventually grabbed from him.

Although Weber was found with dozens of stab wounds to his head, neck and chest, Katehis told cops he doesn’t remember the stabbing, prosecutors said.

Weber was found dead inside his Brooklyn Heights apartment on March 20.

Katehis remains in jail at Rikers Island.
