A night that began with merriment ended in tragedy when a teenager was shot dead at a house party in East New York early yesterday.
Craig Shelton, 15, had been at the party at a home on Euclid Avenue near Belmont Avenue when shots rang out shortly after midnight, sources said.
He was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

An ice cream truck struck a pedestrian in Greenpoint last night, cops said.
The victim, whose identity wasn’t released, stepped in front of the frozen-treats truck at Freeman Street near McGuinness Boulevard at around 9:32 p.m. The truck stayed at the scene and no tickets were issued.
The man was rushed to Bellevue in serious but stable condition.
Queens
A man arrested for beating foes with a brick in Far Rockaway was re-arrested and slapped with murder charges after one of the victims died, police said.
Hector Funez, 25, attacked the men during an argument on Beach 20th Street near Cornaga Avenue at 4 a.m. May 9, police said.
One of the victims needed four surgical staples to close a head wound.
The other victim, Juan Zepeda, 38, was struck in the head and lost consciousness, according to court papers.
He was hospitalized and remained in a coma.
He died May 16, police said. An autopsy concluded that Zepeda died as a result of injuries suffered in the attack, police said.
Funez was re-arrested Thursday.
When the smoke clears, it’s still a DWI rap.
Anthony Priore, 21, was behind the wheel of a Toyota and driving on the shoulder of the Staten Island Expressway near Bradley Avenue in Willowbrook when cops stopped him at 8 p.m. Thursday, sources said.
His eyes were bloodshot, he was unsteady on his feet and there was a strong odor of marijuana on his breath, according to court papers.
A Breathalyzer test showed no sign of alcohol, said sources, but Priore refused to submit to a urine test.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, according to a spokesman for DA Daniel Donovan.
