City jail big crie$ uncle

An official responsible for overseeing the city’s jail system has agreed to pay a $4,000 fine for helping his incarcerated nephew get an emergency leave from Rikers Island to attend a brother’s funeral.

Kennith Armstead Sr., director of field operations for the Board of Correction, admitted in a settlement with the Conflicts of Interest Board to arranging the 2008 release after getting a call from his sister.
