Kodak cut
Professionals working for bankrupt Eastman Kodak and its creditors’ committee agreed to cut by 1.7 percent an initial request for $38.3 million to cover fees and expenses through the end of April.
PPI index
The Labor Department said its seasonally adjusted producer price index increased 1.7 percent last month, the largest gain since June 2009, after rising 0.3 percent in July.

Gold may exceed $2,000 an ounce within 12 months, Barrick Gold Corp. CEO Jamie Sokalsky and Chuck Jeannes, CEO of Goldcorp, said in interviews in Denver.

Pier 1’s second-quarter profit jumped 58 percent as the home-furnishings retailer saw results buoyed by strong sales growth and helped by an income-tax benefit. The company raised its full-year earnings guidance to a range of $1.10 to $1.16.
