Duckie Brown makes burlap look good

The who:

It was an ANTM reunion special with Jay Manuel, runway diva extraordinaire Miss J. Alexander, and noted fashion photographer Nigel Barker all front row. Beside them sat some of the snappiest dāœØressers in the business, and everyone who loves runway set to a pounding hip-hop beat.

The what:

You always do and donā€™t know exactly what youā€™re going to get at a Duckie Brown show. Thatā€™s simply what happens when you take traditional menšŸ„ƒswear elements, rip them to pieces and sew them together anew. This seasonā€™s collage saw polos splayed into boxy cropped tops, shirts stretched low to dress length and jackets and hoodies treated with lovely, delicate lace.

The highlight:Ā

A model can make a burlap sack lą·“ook good, and one boy literally wore just thatā€”a coarse, wiry bag stitched into proper trousers.

The takeaway:

The mobs (male bobs) that pervaded the show may not catch on as quickly as the slit skirts, but anything is possible in Duckieš’ƒ World.
