This is just dead wrong.
A grieving woman saysā a Brooklynš funeral home handling arrangements for her beloved mother sent a āthank youā message so disturbingly vile it would make Freddy Krueger cringe.
āWe would like to thank you for allowing our directors to f–k the hell out of your loved one,ā the heinous e-mail read. āThere is nothing like a dead piece of a–.ā
Pamela Johnson, 46, is now suing Grace Funeral Chapels in Brooklyn Supreme Couršt, claiming the nightmarish missive came from an AOL account once used by the Cypress Hills undertaker.
It arrived on May 6, two days after shš e first met with Grace officials to bury her 64-yš¤Ŗear-old mom, and two days before the May 8 funeral.
āHow do you get past that? Even the thought of someoā±ne violating your motherā.ā.ā.ā,ā Johnson told The Post, breaking down as she spoke.
The Middletown woman says sheās haunted by the idea that someone might have actuallyā defiled the remains of her mom, Melinda Shaw.
āMy thinking now is that it could havš§øe happened,ā she said. āI was supposed to look after her, to make sure she was treated fairly, to make sure she was treated properly.ā
The funeral home director šsaid thź¦e āabsolutely disgustingā message ādidnāt come from here.ā
āObviously, someone hacked into ourš¦ system,ā Grace Funeral Chapels director Shawn King told The Post. āIt didnāt come from anyone who works for me.ā
King said the home has apologized to Johānson and her family and reported the suspected hacking to AOL.
āI canāt just walk away from that. I canāt,ā Johnson said. āI canāt say,ā āOK, Iām going tš¼o act like it didnāt happen.ā I need answers.ā
Johnsonās mother died of a massive heart attack. The Queens mother of two had worked at Kingsboro š„Psychiatric Center for more than 30 years as a therapistās aide.
When Johnson confronted the Noš¹rth Conduit Boulevard funeral home with the jaw-dropping e-mail, she says King declared ź¦it āsabotage,ā and said it hadnāt used the AOL account in months.
Johnson had no time to choose a different funeral director and was forced to hold her motherās seāØrvice there as planned.
Grace Funeral Chapel promised to investigate, but Johnson, who is acting as her own lawyer, says she has heard nothing since her momās funeral. She is seekinšg more than $85,000 in damages.
āIām just angry and sad, so sadšø,ā she said. āThis woman protected me, and for me to give her to these people, and for them to do that to her, I donāt know. Iām praying.ā
