The who:
Alicia Keys, Jessica Pare, Maria Sharapova (who scored a coveted seat beside Anna Wintour).
The what:
Wu brought his signature uptown elegance to 82 Mercer St. – in the depths of Soho, yes, but there was nothing “downtown” about this collection. Rooted in a gentle color palette – cream, beige, sage, navy and black – the designer focused on cozy fabrics paired with ultra-luxe accessories: hits included a gold metallic tank and suede pencil skirt with a crocodile-encased handbag and a black knit bikini with suede weekenders. But it wasn’t without that Wu bit of edge: we loved the ivory knit corseted crewneck paired with a draped glittery pencil skirt.
The highlight:
A white, lace-paneled slip dress finished with a fl𒆙uttering peplum.
The takeaway:
He might be the First Lady’s go-to for her most formal affairs, but this beautifully relaxed collection brought a fre🌠sh ease to eveningwear.
