De Blasio’s son not only campaign star – meet Chiara

The young campaign volunteer 🌺beamed with pride as her favorite candidate stepped behind a bank of microphones to talk about the election he was getting ready to win.

For weeks, she had been by his side, shaking hands, handing out leaflets and giving the occasional politica𒅌l speech.

“I’m so happy thaಞt I get to work with my dad and the rest of my family on this campaign,” Chiara de Blasio said at a fund-raiser recently.

“It’d be one thing if I just thought he was just like some boring white guy who didn’t know what he was talking about. But you know, he truly — he cares about everybody in this city, e😼very different type of person. You know — rich, poor, black, white, blue, whatever.”

Chiara, 18, got to cast a ballot Tuesday in heꦡr first-ever opportunity to vote, and de B♛lasio and his wife, Chirlane, could not have been more proud.

“Chiara is someoꦑne who — Chirla🔜ne would confirm this for me — started impressing strong opinions at like 9 or 10 months old,” de Blasio said.

“Always had strong views. Always cared about people who were less fortunate. And the fact that this is the day tha𝔍t she actually gets to exercise her own vote is a beautiful thing.”

T🔯his isn’t Chiara’s first rodeo. Four years ago, before her father 🎃was elected public advocate, Chiara caused a brief stir when a firearm pendant she wore in a family picture was airbrushed out of his campaign literature.

It was also banished from her neck.

Dad chalked up the gaff♑e to a youthful indiscretไion.

Chiara has done remarkably better th🐷is time around, although her brother, Dante, has stolen the spotlight with his superfly Afro.

Chiara spent the night with her dad in July when he joined other mayoralౠ candidates for a housing projects sleep-in to publicize the con🥂ditions at New York City Housing Authority sites.

And she was at his side yesterday when he talked about the h🅠ard work in reaching the next level.

“There’s only so much that one person c🎉an do alone,” Chiara said in a campaign video. “But one person’s vote can make all the difference.”

Chiara cast her vote with her da🐠d a♛t the Park Slope library.

And if you’re looking to see what the outspoken teenager t🧔weeted about her first voting experience, don’t bother. She doesn’t have a Twitter account.

The campaign didn’t want to take any chances.

💟But de Blasio feels confident he has all the other bases covered.

“We feel great about our operation, very strong on the ground, thousands of volunteers,” de Blasio told supporters on the Upper West Sid🎃e.

“A lot of people are asking about affordable housing. A lot of people are asking about how we can do better by our children in school. It wasn’t long ago when Chiara wa🔯s onꦚe of those children.”

Now sh𝐆e has moved on to college in 🍎California, but she took a summer break to help out with the campaign.

“She has been talking to a lot of young people along the way who are getting their first opportunity to vote,” de Blasio said. “I’ve💖 seen a lot of binding over that in the campaign trail.”

De Bla🍨sio said it is exꦓtra special that Chiara was voting for him.

“All I can say is that after 18 years,” de Blasio said,⛄ “I think I’ve earned that vote.”
