Vietnamese firefighter tormented by ‘slurs’

The cityā€™s only Vietnamese firefighter says he was almost fried šŸ’Æby some of his fellow smoke-eaters.

A handful of bigots at Brooklynā€™s Engine 207 tormented Minh-Bao Pham with racial slurs like ā€œCharlie,ā€ ā€œchinkā€ and ā€œgook,ā€ and even threw firecrackers at him, according to a ź¦Ælawsuit.

Pham, 33, alleges supervisors ā€œcondoned and encouragedā€ the hateful behavior, according to papers hešŸŒ filed last week in ManhattašŸøn Supreme Court.

Moreover, when his wife went into premature labor, delivering a stillborn child, the firefighter says he was given just two weeks off then slammed as ā€œlazyā€ when he returned, accšŸ’ording to court documents.

His complaints fell on deaf ears, and when he sought a transfer in 2007ā™•, he found ā€œhis gear was hanging from a noose,ā€ Pham claims.

The harassment continued at Engine Co. 55 in Manhattan, where the firefighter found another noose in the pocket of his uniform jacket,šŸ’ž according to ā™•the suit.

The city will review the allegations when it receives š’…Œthe complaint, according to a Law Deź¦æpartment spokeswoman.
