The Rumble: SNY’s ‘Covino & Rich’ set to debut

SNY not?

SNY will debut “Covino & Rich” on Monday at 6 p.m., featuring current radio partners Steve Covino and Rich Davis, who will tackle the latest nꦍews in the sports and entertainment world from a fan’s perspective.

Covino and Davis will offer viewers and sports fans an entertaining, lighthearted show, incorporating pop﷽ culture, social media and viewer participation into the program, which will air Monday-Friday from 6-🐼6:30 p.m.

They 🌃will debate which athlete would best fit a current starring TV or movie role. There will be a “Who Owns It?” segment, such as: Who Owns LT? Lawrence Taylor or LaDainian Tomlinson? Who owns No. 51? Bernie Williams or Randy Johnson?

“ ‘Covi♒no & Rich’ will not be your everyday, run-of-the-mill sports show. We’ll tackle sports and pop culture stories that are ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚmeaningful to New Yorkers in a different way,” said Brad Como, vice president of studio programming and production at SNY. “There won’t be a lot of Xs and Os, but plenty of discussion about what happens off the field of play.”

Can’t drop kick Murphy

He’s the Mets’ Ironman. Manager Terry Collins put it in simpler teams: “Daniel Murphy is🎐 just a baseball player who hates to come out of the lineup.”

Murphy is the only Mets position player 𓃲to be on the active roster the entiꦿre season.

“I know there were times when TC had to sit me down for a few innings,” Murphy said of his manager. “I just love to play. I misꦓsed some ti🏅me with some knee injuries a few years ago so whenever I can, I want to be on the field.”

Mu🃏rphy is also one of five players in the majors with 35 or more doubles, 10 or more home runs and 20 or more stole🦩n bases. The others are Mike Trout, Hunter Pence, Andrew McCutcheon and Ian Desmond.

“In my mind, Daniel is one of the most ꦫunderappreciated players in the league,” Collins said. “If we were a little bit higher up in the standings, I think more people would have notice🌱d what he did this year. I noticed, that’s for sure.”

Felton inspires kids

Knicks point guard Raymond Felton joined 🗹up with fe🍸llow Under Armour endorsers LaVar Arrington and Jeremy Kerley of the Jets at midtown Macy’s as part of a panel to discuss the key to success for young athletes and how to build a “base” for success.

Felton had a solid message, pining for when kids were out and about ins༒tead of stuck in front of their computers.

“I’ve been in the same position and if you want to be good, you have to put in the time,’’ Felton said. “You’ve got to work. I don’t see no kids outside at the park. No kids in the gym. You got to sacrifice and not just hang out wℱith the boys. You got to work. That’s what I did. I was in the gym 24/7. Not even a gym. I can’t lieꦆ. I was on the dirt. I had no gym to go to. It was at the park or at home.

“It’s amazing to me I d💞on’t see it. I spent a lot of time in my backyard where it was all grass. That’s how I learned how to dribble — on gra🤪ss.’’
