Backlash after E! tweets Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s ‘Fun Fact’

A boneheaded E! News flashed an insensitive graphics box touting Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s diagnosis as a “Fun Fact.”

During the entertainment channel’s Golden Globes red carpet coverage E! showed a graphics box that read “Fun Fact: Michael J Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.”

The veteran actor 🎃made his return to television th♊is fall in his eponymous NBC show.

The tone deaf trivia drew outrage on Twitter with 🌠many lashing out E!

A spokesperson for the network apologized saying “We regret the insensitive classification of Michael J Fox’s Parkinson’s diagnosis during our Eonline live stream. We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologize.”
