Cop cars collide after racing to the same call

An NYPD SUV and NYPD cruiser from the same precinct were racing to a call of a crazy person with such urgency tha☂t they didn’t see each other — and spectacularly collided on an East Harlem street this morning.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. when the cruiser was racing across ൩East 119th Street in Harlem when it slammed into the SUV as it was heading north on Park Avenue, cops said.

The 25th Precinct SUV landed on its side underneath the elev♛ated Metro North train tracks and the cruiser spun out of control and remained upright, witnesses said.

Yolanda Rodriguez was working at a pizza shop near the intersection where the accident happened and said she was startled by the sound of grinding ✅metal.

“There were a lot of people so it was hard to see what was happening,” said Rodriguez, 40. “One of the cars was flipped over and th♋ey were trying to get it upright with a tow t🌺ruck.”

The two officer in ea𝄹ch car managed to climb out of their mangled vehicles relatively unscathed, officia♕ls said. All four were taken to St. Lukes Hospital with minor injuries.

“We heard a screeching and a boom and ran to the window to see what happened and then we went downstairs to see it,” said local resident Gloria Mason. “They got the driver out through the trunk of the car but he seemed okay. Both drivers and were walking after the accident.”

“There was broken glass by the SUV and there was oil that leaked out from the other cop car but they cleaned all of that up,” she continued. “I didn’t get close enough to see what their injuries were but they were both walking surprisingly. From the way the SUV looked you would think they would be dead.”

It’s unclear if the emotiona🍬lly disturbed man was ever c🉐aught.
