A father who had just attended an awards ceremony at his daughter’s Brooklyn e💛lementary school was mugged and shot right around the corner, police sources said.
Donnell Getfield, 24, was walking with his grandmother around 11 a.m. near PS 233 on Avenue B in Canarsie when the thief approached. Getfield threw a 𝔍couple of punches at the thug, ꧑who then pulled out a gun and shot him in the torso, the sources said.
He collapsed to the ground and the robber snatched his gold chain froꦜm around Getfield’s neck and jumped into a nearby car.
The school went into a shelter in place immediately following the attack and police are investi🐻gat♔ing the scene.
Getfield is in serious condition at Brookdal⛦e Hospital.
