Bucs’ last hope to throw off the Vikings: teasing cheerleaders

When you’re the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and you’re not a very good football team, you’ll take any advantage you can get. Even choreographed ones.

Up 13-10 with just overĀ a minute to play and the Vikings charging Sunday, play stopped for a TV timeout. As each team huddled to discuss the next play, in trotted the Tampa Bay dance team. The ladies flaunted, swayed, whirled and clapped — just mere feet away from Minnesota players, avoiding glances like shy teenagers — all while dressed in thin red tops and frayed miniskirts.

The ploy didn’t quite work, as the Vikings eventually kicked a field goal to send it to overtime and promptly scored on a fumble recovery in the extra period. Alas, the Bucs could have used some points for creativity.
