She couldn’t resist cashing a check that big.
The divorcée who sc🍒offed at a $974.8 mil✃lion check she received from her oil-tycoon ex-hubby finally deposited the enor😼mous sum into a bank account Thursday, the billionaire mogul’s lawyer told The ༒Post.
Sue Ann Arnall, 56, had initially refused to accept the amount and demanded more from ex-husband Harold ꦿHamm, who is estimated to be worth $13.5 billion.
But on Thu🦂rsday, Hamm’s lawyer, Michael Burrage, said he received word from Morgan Stanley that Arnall opened an account and deposited the ch🗹eck.
Arnall had argued that she was worth more than the measly $974.8 million because she was not only a loyal wife but an executive for Hammꦚ’s firm and used her skills as a lawyer and economist to help it thrive.
She said earlier this week that she pla⛄nned to appeal a November divorce-court ruling that granted her $995 million, along with other assets worth tens of millions more, such as a California ranch and an Oklahoma home.
But Hamm, the CEO of energy company Conti⛄nental Resources, claimed that t⛎he amount was too high.
The oil tycoon said he lost billions of dollars in recent months due to plunging oil prices. He and ♎his legal team planned to ap🌞peal the settlement ruling themselves — claiming it should be lower.
Now that Arnall has accepted the payment, she will likely ꦰnot be able to appeal the decision under Oklahoma law.
The couple’s contentious divor♈ce battle had threatened Hamm’s c🔥ontrol over Continental Resources, America’s fastest-growing oil company.
Hamm w🔜as the 13th child of Oklahoma sharecroppers and started his career scrubbing scum out of oil barrels.
He went on to become a leading force behind the US oil boom and served as the senioꦰr energy adviser to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s campaign.
Time magazine named hi❀m one of the most influential people in the world, and Forbes listed him last year 🍌among the 50 richest Americans.
Arnall has held key posts at Continental, led oil-industry trade groups🃏 in Oklahoma, testified to Congress on behalf of Continental, and created Continental’s oil and gas marketing units. She is no longer w🌌ith the company.
The Hamms were🀅ജ married in April 1988 and have two adult children, Jane and Hilary.
