Design duo BassamFellows debuts fuss-free collection

Like many fashion folk, the NYC bas⛎ed design duo BassamFellows got their start as architects — sculpting furniture that made a splash from Manhattan to Milan.

Now Cra꧙ig Bassam and Scott Fellows have shifted into the fashion arena with the debut of their capsule collection of luxe must-haves for men and women. The fuss-free pieces come in three categories — cashmere, sunglasses and boots — manufactured in partnership with key European crafts makers.

(Left) “Marion” sunglasses ($500) feature an oversize design that’s functional and glamorous. (Right) Long-sleeve double faced cashmere T-shirt (on model) ,$1,000, leather touring bag, approximately $1,950, and “Alpine” zip boots ($850), all at Francois Dischinger (2)

Cashmeres, for instance, come from Treviso-based Spagnol, which has made meticulous wovens since 1949, while the glasses are by Paris’ venerable E.B. Meyrowitz. As for the boots, they’re from Italian leathers master Franco Cimadamore, w🌊hose Termoscarpa method produces footwear that’s equally stylish and weather-resistant.

“With everything we do𓃲, we really like to work with these kinds of master craftsmen — many of whom are now in their third generation,” Fellows says.

Like their furniture, BassamFellows’ fashions reflect their signature “Craftsman Modern” ﷽aesthetic: They’re all cle🧜an lines, crisp silhouettes and cozy fits. And the new collection is fashion for folks with deep — yet discreet — pockets.

“We’re making fashion for the long term, with pieces that uncomplicate your life and that you can wear day after day,” Fellows says. “Our furniture is designed to the highest quality and made to last for 50 years,” he adds. “We’re bringing this same philosophy.”
