Scheindlin ‘regretfully’ gives up stop-and-frisk case

Manhattan federal Judge Shira Scheindlin ašŸƒgreed šŸ”œTuesday to relinquish oversight of a stop-and-frisk-related lawsuit ā€” and showed she was not happy at all about it.

Scheindlin gave the case to Judge Analisa Torres, who previously tookš’ƒ over two other higher-profile stop-and-frisk lawsuits from Scheindlin after an appellate panel in October 2013 removed Scheindlin from the cases.

ā€œI am transferring the . . . case with regret as it would have been most appropriate for the judge that sšŸ„‚upervised this case .ā€‰.ā€‰. for more than five years to supervise the implementation of the remedies imposed by the court or agreed to by the parties,ā€ said šŸŒScheindlin.
