Terrence Howard’s other Fox show, “Empire,” will return in the fall (and not in January, when it premiered earlier this year).
Fox announced Monday that Season Two of the hip-hop family drama will expand from 12 episodes to 18, to air in two parts in the fall and spring on Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
R&B artist Ne-Yo has also signed on to write original music with Timbaland for the new season.
Season Two will include more big-name guest stars, including Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz.
“Empire” — which co-stars Taraji P. Henson and focuses on a family fighting for control of their record label — was the biggest success story of this past season, growing its audience every week and drawing more than 23 million viewers for its finale with seven days of viewing factored in.
