Missing ‘Mad Men’? Watch these ’60s-set TV shows instead

Missing your weekly fix of ’60s-era costumes🐟, set décor and music now that “Mad Men” has aired its final episode? Never fear — there are plenty of other TV shows set in the decade to ease your withdrawals, starting with Thursday’s debut of “Aquarius,” set in groovy 1967 LA.

‘Aquarius’


David Duchovny stars as an LA homicide detective circa the “Summer of Love” who🐻 infiltrates the hippie counterculture in search of a missing teen who’s fallen under the sway of Charles Manson two years before the Tate-LaBianca murder🌟s. Premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. on NBC.

‘The Astronaut Wives Club’


JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Yvonne Strahovski lead a cast portraying the wives of NASA’s Mercury Seven astronauts, who went from military spouses to American royalty and fashion icℱons during𝔍 America’s Space Race era. Premieres June 18 on ABC.

‘Masters of Sex’


The drama about pioneering sex researchers William Masters (Michael Sheen) and Virginia Johnson (Lizzy Caplan) fast-forwards to 1966 in Season 3 (premiering July 12 on Showtime), when their study is finally unveiled and helps touch o💫ff the sexual revolution.

‘Call the Midwife’


It’s England, not America, but this PBS drama — which centers on a group of nurses and midwives in London’s East End — moved into the Swinging Sixties in its most recent episodes. Season 4, which wrapped on🤡 May 17, can currently be watched on PBS.org.

‘Granite Flats’


A small Colorado town in the early 1960s experiences strange goings-on after a Soviet spy satellite falls from the sky. Season 3 of this family drama — streaming now on Netflix — stars Cꦏhrist꧅opher Lloyd, Parker Posey and George Newbern.

‘Public Morals’


Set in the seedy, gritty streets of 1960s New York, Ed Burns stars as a police officer investigating vice crimes for the ci🦋ty’s Public Morals Division. As an escalating war between two factions of the Irish-American mob devours Hell’s Kitchen, he fights back against the dark underbelly that threatens tꦜo snare his fellow cops. It premieres Aug. 25 on TNT.
