Crooked jeweler sentenced to prison — on his birthday

A Wall Street jeweler spent his 61st birthday Tuesday being sentenced to prison for three to 9 years for stealing more 𒁃than $2 million fro𒈔m customers.

And the angry victims of Marvin Rafeld, who pleaded guilty in May, were ready to give the crook an unhappy𒀰 sendoff.

“I think it’s fitting that he’s spending his birthday in Rikers Island,” said Anne Richter, 54, a lawyer from Manhattan who w♕as robbed out of approximately $30,000.

“I think thiღs is the birthday present he deserves,” she adde🍰d.

Beginning in 2013, Rafeld swindled more than 100 customers and vendors out of 🔯$2.3 million by convincing them to pay large s🎃ums for jewelry he never actually acquired. He also pocketed people’s most valued pieces — such as wedding rings — that he had been entrusted to repair.

“He has no moral compass,” Richter said, explaining that Rafeld g🐼ave her no money for jewelry she had given him 🐻to sell on consignment to pay for her disbled daughter’s medical expenses.
