Man charged with calling in 11 bomb threats in two weeks

A 64-year-old Manhattan man has been charged with phoning in nearly a dozen phony bomb threats🀅 to JFK Airport this month, vowing to blow up planes and kill cops, sources said Monday.

Philip༒ Ngom, of West 116th Street, was charged with making 11 threats between June 9 and June 24, bedeviling Port Authority cops who were forced to take the threats seriously.

Ngom, a Sengalese immigrant, was held on $750,000 bail after his arraignment at Queens Criminal Court Saturday befo🤡re Judge Deborah Stevens Modica on 11 counts of first-degrꦦee falsely reporting an incident and making a terrorist threat.

“The individual’s alleged actions not only caused undue alarm and disruption to thousands of air travelers, but resulted in extensive police resources being wasted to investigate phony threats,” said Port Authority Chief Security Officer Thomas💎 Belfiore.

The charges allege that Ngom called in the repeated threats to 911 in which he vowed on some calls that he would be planting chem𓂃ical bombs and/or explosives containing nails at JFK Airport.

On June 18, he called 911 at 7:13 a.m. and claimed he had three chemical bombs in a BMW and would drive the vehicle to JFK Airport, adding, “I am going to kill a lot of people at the airp๊ort today. It’s a pleasure to kill.”

He called back less than 50 minutes later aꦇnd insisted that it was his mission to kill police officers and that he was holding a “naked cop” hostage.

“I have a naked police officer in the basement. I ꦐam going to kill a lot of officers tonight. I have three bombs I want to place at JFK Airport.”

A source familiar with the probe said that Ngom “was no dope” and was “fairly articulate,” but did not indicate any specific motive for why he made the alleged threats, which the source insisted had likely led to “millions of dollars in lost money due to various de🦂lays.”

Ngom had previously livജed꧅ in Atlanta, which is the headquarters of Delta Airlines, and that might be one reason why he chose to target several Delta flights, the source added.

“He clearlyꦚ has a wire crossed somewhere,” said the source.
