Tourist snaps a selfie after illegally climbing Brooklyn Bridge

Amid all th🧜e talk of heightened security in the city as July Fourth approaches, a tourist managed to climb the Brooklyn Bridge — to take a selfie.

David Karnauch, an engineering student at the University of Tennessee, on Tuesday🌱 posted this pic of Sunday’s stunt on Instagram.

“You could just get on a beam and it actually had handrails on the left ♛and right side, and I just walked across the bridge💧 and turned around to take a picture,” he told WNBC-TV from his home in Chattanooga, Tenn.

“I don’t recommend anybody else do it. It’s not a smart thing to do because I kno🍌w they take security on the bridges seriously.”

The image quickly wen🌟𝐆t viral — but police were not impressed, calling his selfie-stick trick “irresponsible and illegal.” They didn’t say if he would be arrested.

“The person most endangered was the ind🌸ividual, whose goal seems to be bringing attention to himself,” said John Miller, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner for cou♑nterterrorism.

Karnauch calls 🐬himself an “adventu൲rous spirit” on his LinkedIn page.
