Nefi Reyes said he thought the gun was locked, and didn’t expect anything to happen when he pulled the trigger, the criminal complaint against him says.
T🅷he gunshot mortally wounded Wils💛on Gil-Torres, 18, Friday afternoon at Reyes’ apartment on Great Neck Road in Copiague, Suffolk County police said.
Gil-Torres, who was a senior at nearby Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High Schooജl, was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Islip following the 12:20 p.m. gunplay.
A Suffolk County judge ordered Reyes held without bail on a manslaughter charge at a hearing 🍃Saturday in Central Islip District Court.
Reyes, according to🔥 the criminal complaint, “recklessly caused the death of another person” and admitted “he knew the gun was loaded, he pointed the gun at the victim to scare him, he pulled the trigger thinking the gun was locked, and the gun fired, shooting the victim in his chest and causing his death.”
