A pizza deliveryman was stabbed in the torso and slashed in the face during a fight with a man outside a pizzeria near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station Friday evening, accordꦺing to cops and a co-worker.
𒅌The 37-year-old deliveryman, who a co-worker said is named Celso, had just begun pedaling down the bike lane near Famous Amadeus Pizza on Eighth Avenue and 31st Street and was getting ready to make a delivery when he nearly collided with a pedestrian around 8:20 p.m.
The two men then began arguing before the suspect🧸 pulled out a bla🌳de and cut him.
“I don’t know if [the attacker] was drunk or homeless, but he was waving around something sharp and sliced him up,” said the co-worker, who works behind the counter and only identified himself as Muta. “His face was cut up pretty bad and blood was running down his face. But he’s going to be OK. Luckily, everyone who works at Amadeus is a good runner.”
Pol♚ice said Celso🌜 was taken to Bellevue Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The attacker is still at large.
