Humvee carrying soldiers overturns on Jersey Turnpike

Four soldiers were seriously injured when a military Humvee flipped over on the Ne🧸w Jersey Turnpike on Thursday afternoon — including one who lost her leg, cops said.

The olive green vehicle, which has an𝓰 open to🌟p, came to a rest wheels up in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike in South Brunswick around 2:30 p.m.

Medics r🐽ushed to the scene, where at least one person was trapped in the vehicle, said New Jersey State Police Capt. Stephen Jones. Three male soldiers and one female soldier were in serious but stable condition Thursday night, police said.

A passerby who witnessed th🐽e accident tweeted that the crash happen🙈ed when a wheel came off the vehicle. Michael Watsey said he and others tried to pull the soldiers out of the Humvee, but were unsuccessful.

“I can not believe that three of our brave soldiers almost died because the truck’s tire broke off,” wrote Watsey. “A young female just lost her leg. I’m sick.”

There w🎐ere no other vehicles involved💯 in the crash.
