Jets take flier on fumbling WR Giants will always love

The Jets added a Giants fan favorite Friday by signing former 49ers wide receiver🍰 Kyle Williams.

Wil💛liams, who has not played in the NFL since 2013, will forever be known to Giants fans for fumbling two punts against them in San Fran😼cisco in the 2011 NFC Championship Game that paved the way for a Big Blue win in that game and, ultimately, their second Super Bowl crown since 2007.

The Jets released wide receiver Quenton Bundrage to make room for Williams, who impressed them as a tryout pla🌄yer in their minicamp this week.

Williams, a sixth-round pick by the Niners in 2010, caught 47 passes for 574 ya🌸rds and four TDs in four seasons. He did not play in 2014 and spent last season on injured reserve with the Broncos with a torn Achilles’ tendon.

The Giants, meanwhile, swapped out backup quarterbacks Friday♉, adding journeyman Logan Thomas while releasing B.J. Daniels.

A fourth-round pick out of Virginia Tech by the Cardinals in 2014, ꦍThomas had spent much of the past year with the Dolphins b💯ut never took a snap with Miami before being waived this week.

Thomas is just 1-for-9 passing in his NFL career, but that lone completion was an 81-yard TD to Andre Ellington in a 41-20 blowout loss to the Bronco🐟s two years ago.

Thomas will nꦬow compet🌄e with Ryan Nassib to be Eli Manning’s primary backup.
