Goose Gossage: Yankees must deal Aroldis Chapman — now

COOPERSTOWN — Yankees Hall of Fame closer Goose Goss📖age is all for trading current Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. Asap.

“They have to,” Gossage told The Post. “I thought it was pretty ridiculous to have three one-inning guys. You really don’t need three.”

Gossage owns 310 saves. So he knows some💧thing about the position. Chapman is a beast who owns 166 career saves and surely could be a difference-maker ꩵdown the stretch for a true contender. The Yankees could deal Chapman at a moment’s notice and improve for the future, and such a move makes sense on many levels.

The Bomber reportedly are in heavy discussions with the Cubs for Chapman. Chicago is willing to deal minor league stud shortstop Gley🃏ber Torres to the Yankees for the hard-throwing closer.

Gossage is a huge believer in Dellin Betances, the firs🍬t of the Big Three relievers.

“He’s an awesome kid and he’s got great stuff,” Gossage said. “Both he and Andrew Miller have a great attitude, they want the ball. And Dellin is only going to get better and better as time goes on.”

As for Mike Piazza entering the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Gossage said of the Mets’ one-time slugger, “It’s great having Mike in the Hall of Fame. He’s considered the greatest offensive catcher of all time, and that is saying something behind Johnny Bench. Wow.”
