Peter Liang, Brooklyn DA drop manslaughter appeals

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office and former NYPD cop Peter Liang h🉐ave both reportedly dropped their respective appeals of Liang’s conviction in the 2014 🍬fatal shooting of Akai Gurley in a Brooklyn housing project.

Assistant District Attorney Ann Bordley sent a letter to the court Tuesday that said her officꦯe has agreed to drop an appeal to amend the charge of second-degree manslaughter and criminally neglige🔴nt homicide against Liang, .

Liang, in an agღreement, also withdrew his appeal of the conviction and waived his r😼ight to file a motion to vacate it.

He was sentenced to five years of probation and community service for shooting Gurley in a dark housing-project stairw♒ell in East New York while conduc🔯ting a vertical patrol.

The unarmed Gurley was struck once in the chest aꦓnd died at the scen𒐪e.

His family won $4.5 million in a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city.
