Sen. Chuck Schumer is getting into the holiday spirit — by firi♛ng nearly every worker in the Senate Democrats’ internal video department.

Nearly the entire eight-person shop got the heave-ho-ho-ho. At least a couple of the staffers had worked in the Senate for decades, acc🐽ording to emails obtained by Politico.
“On Friday, December 16, 2016, my colleagues and I in the Senate Democratic Media Center were informed by the incoming Democratic Leaders office that our services were no longer needed,” one Schumer vi🉐ctim emailed.
It’s not utterly arbitrary: With Republicans rul🍸ing the roost in Washington, Senate Democrats expec𒁃t to be the party’s chief messaging arm come January. They want a media shop attuned to the 21st century, not one aimed at making videos for each senator’s home market.
“It’s incumbent on us to create some of the more creative, buzzy, viral content,” said one top Dem🐻ocratic aide. “The current, existing ๊[operation] wasn’t built to do that.”
All fair enough. But it sure would’ve sent a better message about 🌠෴Democrats’ concerns for working folks to wait until after the holiday to send out the pink slips.
