‘Deadpool’ is getting a TV show

FXX has ordered an animated series based on the hit Marvel character Dead🌄pool — and “Atlanta” star Donald Glover has been tapped to write it.

The as-yet-untitled project, described as an “adult action-comedy,” will bring the foulmouthed, wisecracking superhero to the small screen following last year’s blockbuster hit “Deadpool” (starring 🌠Ryan Reynolds). That ♑movie proved to be a bit of a sleeper hit, raking in $783 million worldwide to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever.

Glover and his brother, “Atlanta” writer/producer Stephen Glover, will serve as showrunners, executive producers and writers. The pair are coming off a critically praised first season for “Atlanta,” which won the Golden Globe Award for best televisionꦿ series (musical or comedy) in Ja♓nuary.

This series marks the second Marvel project for FX Productions, which premiered “Legion” on FX in February. It’s slated for a 10-epওisode first season.
