Rory McIlroy destroys ex-PGA Tour pro who called him out

Rory McIlroy missed the cut in the US Open at Erin Hills, and he was in no mood to let a tweet🤡 from former PGA Tour player Steve Elkington go by without a r𒀰esponse.

The Aussie pro golfer didn’t tag McIlroy in the tweet, but said the 2011 US Open champ lacked motivation and must be bored playing golf without Ti👍ger Woods in the field .

McIlroy took a screenshot of his own Wikipedia page that lists all of his achievements, which includes three European Golfer of the Year Awards, two PGA Player of t♏he Year Awards and four majors won, before adding his worth is “more like $200 million.”

Elkington refused to back down, tweeting he wasn’t surprised McIlroy is a money guy while Jack Nicklaus, who won 18 majors🅺, never once commented on money earned.

McIlroy took the respo🃏nse as an opportunity to question Elkington’s grammar skills.

Th🎀e social-media exchange came after McIlroy seemed to find his groove at the US Open, only too late. He finished his round at 1-under 71 Fr🔴iday, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the horrid 78 he posted Thursday.

McIlroy, along with Dustin Johnson and Jason Day, made history in becoming🍒 the first top three in the history of the World Golf rankings to all miss a cut ✨at the same major.

McIlroy’s response to Elkington probab🐟ly mဣade him feel a bit better.
