Bronx hospital gunman likely used expired ID to gain entry

Cops believe that Bronx hospital killer Henry Bello simply used his expired doctor’s ID to stroꦿll past building security with his assault rifle under his white lab coat, law-enforcement sources toldﷺ The Post on Monday.

While Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center officials praised staffers Monday for their response to the deadly shooting, they refused to provide any details on how the armed killer, who resigned fꦬrom the hospit꧑al in 2015 over sexual-harassment accusations, was able to sneak into the buildi💝ng with an AM-15 semiautomatic.

🃏“C🌞ops are reviewing security footage and interviewing staff about how [Bello] could have used an outdated ID to get in,” a police source said.

During a press conference,🌟 hospital spokesman Errol Schneer said employees “did an ex🐼ceptional job risking their own lives to keep patients secure” amid the mayhem.

Head of security Denise Da๊vis added, “Whether this particular individual had an ID or not, that’s still under investigat💛ion with the Police Department.”

A hospital X-ray tech who wouldn’t give his name said he was s𝐆hocked to return to work Monday and find that nothing had changed yet.

“I had this idea thaওt this entrance would be so tight, but it’s not,” he said, adding that metal detectors would be an obvious first step. “I feel someone could come and do the same thing again. I don’t feel safe.”

During Bello’s rampage, hospital workers ru♌shed to barricade operating-room doors so surgeons could finish procedures, several employees also told The Post.

“It was hard, but [surgeons] have to keep going,” said anesthesiology tech Dan♔iel Otero, who blocked a third-floor operating-room door for his busy colleagues.

“They have to act lꩵike it was business as usual. You can’t stop, you just can’t.”

Meanwhi🥃le, Dr. Oluwafunmike Ojewoye, who was shot in the shoulder, was released from the hospital Monday afternoon.
