A popular 🤡hip-hop podcaster was hit with murder charges Thursday in the fatal shooting of a rapper’s bodyguard that spar🅰ked a gunfight in the VIP area of concert venue Irving Plaza.
Daryl Campbell, 31, known as Taxstone, allegedly brought a 9mm pistol to a T.I. concert and fired the shot that killed Ronald McPhatter, 33 — the 🐈friend and body𒉰guard of his nemesis, rapper Roland Collins, a k a Troy Ave.
“Not guilty,” Campbell said to second-degree murder, attempted-murder, assault and weapons-possession raps stemming from the shootout on May 25, 2016.🧸 Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Maxwell Wiley ordered him held without bail.
After the e𒉰x-con allegedly shot McPhatter, Collins wrestled the gun away and was wounded in the leg, according to prosecutors.
Video footage then shows Collins, 34, running from the VIP room and opening fire in McPhatter’s direction into the crowded balcony area as concertgoers dive for cover. The violence occurred just before headliner T.I. was set to take the stage🧔 at the Union Square show.
Campbell was picked 𒅌up by federal authorities earlier this year. Although prosecutors fingered him as the prime suspect in the murder, he had only been charged i♊n Manhattan federal court with being a felon in possession of a firearm and buying an illegal gun.
He copped to the charges June 15 while 🍒denying any involvement in the murder.
His lawyer, Ke🐻n Montgomery, said they’d fight the new charges.
