Pence slams claim that he’s planning 2020 presidential run

Vice President Pence blasted a report that said he is planning a run for president in 2020, calling it “disgraceful and offensive.”

“Today’s article in the New York Times is disgraceful and offensive to me, my family, and our entire team,” Pence said in a statement released on Sunday. “The allegations in this article are categorically false and represent just the latest attempt by the media to divide this Administration.”

He called the report “fake news” and said his team is working to advance President Trump’s agenda and to see him through to a second term.

“Any suggestion otherwise is both laughable and absurd,” Pence said.

“The American people know that I could not be more honored to be working side by side with a president who is making America great again,” the statement said.

In an interview earlier on ABC’s “This Week,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Trump

“The president says privately and publicly, often, George , that he’ll be president for seven and a half more years, so he plans on being a two – term president,” Conway told host George Stephanopoulos.
