6 injured after man accidentally backs car into laundromat

An elderly man accidentally reversed his SUV straight into a Laundromat on Staten Island this morning — smashing through the store’s plate-glass window and pinning six people agains💙tꦺ the back wall.

Surveillance video from the scene shows the 74-year-old driver blasting his vehicle through the Tottenville store just after 8 a.m. when he floored the gas while going in thܫe wrong direction, police said.

“I saw this car going backward an💃d didn’t stop, and he went right through the Laundromat,” one witness said. “A young lady with her grandfather and her mother — they got pinned on the dryers.”

Three of those injuried are in serious condition in Staten Island 𝄹University Hospital, although their injuries are not life-threatening. The other three are stable.

One of the injured was mother-of-three Cristina Sanchez, who hea🍨rd a loud noise and desperately tried to get away, her sister told The Post.

“She 🐠saw t🧸he car coming fast, then it ran over her,” said the sibling, Marrsela Sanchez. “She said she didn’t have time to run.”

Cristina suffered cuts and brui𝕴ses all over her body, added her husband.

“I’m very sad right now,” spouse Rober♑to Vidalas said. “We have three kids that she cares for, and it’s going to take a lಌong time for her to recover.”
