South Korea conducts military exercise after N. Korea threats

South Korea has responded to the nuclear provocation from the North by conducting a “live-fire exercise” that simulates an attack on their nuclear test sites, the South’s military said.

The exercises were an attempt to “strongly warn” Pyongyang over North Korea’s latest nuclear test.

Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the military used F-15 fighter jets and the country’s land-based Hyunmoo ballistic missiles.

They also released live weapons that “accurately struck” a target in the sea off the country’s eastern coast.

The target was set according to the distance to the North’s test site and the exercise was aimed at practicing precision strikes and cutting off reinforcements.
