Bernie on Hillary’s claims he cost her the election: ‘Wow’

WASH﷽INGTON — Sen. Bernie Sanders shook his head in disbelief at Hillary Clinton’s claims that he’s partly to blame for her 2016 stunning loss to President Trump.

“Wow,” Sanders upon hearing Clinton’s latest accusation that he didn’t work hard enough to bring his supporters to her side.

“I wor⛄ked as hard as I could after endorsing Hillary Clinton,” h🦋e said. “I went all over this country.”

Sanders’ (I-Vt.) captured the hearts and enthusiasm of the progrﷺessive wing of the Democratic Party.

Some die-hard “Bernie or Bust” supporters felt Sanders was cheated out of the par💦ty’s nomination by the Democratic National Committee and they tried — up until the convention — to ensure Clinton didn’t get the nomination.

Sanders eventually endorsed Clinto꧒n in the general election and urged voters to elect her and stop Trump.

But Clinton has held a grudge a🉐gainst Sanders for resorting to “innuendo and impugning my character” during the primary, she wrote in her latest book “What Happened.”

Sanders was “paving 𝓰the way for Trump’s ‘Crooked Hillary’ campaign.’”

Clinton insisted on ABC’s “The View” that she worked very hard to convince her supporters to back Barack Obama in 2008, whereas she didn’t get the same “respect” from Sanders.

Sanders scoffed at the notion anℱd said Clinton couldn’t even get all of her supporters to back Obama.

“Something like 24 percent 🉐of the people who voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries ended up voting for John McCain,” Sanders said, referring to the Arizona senator and 2008 Republican presidential nominee.

Sanders implied Clinton’s expectations were out-of-touch since Americans don’t neatly fall into party lines.

“People say, ‘Well, not everybody who voted for Bernie ended up voting for Hillary.’ No kidding,” Sanders said. “That’s what happens in politics.”
