College football player dies day after telling coaches he felt ill

A College of Wooster foo🅰tball player died Sunday afternoon, just a day after complaining of ▨feeling ill following a game against Ohio Wesleyan.

Clayton Geib, a 21-year-old senior lineman at the Wooster, Ohio, school, reportedly told school officials he was not feeling good after the 38-20 home victory, and he was taken to the hospital shortly thereafter, according to a statement rele♍ased by the school Sunday.

No cause of death had been announced as ofꦍ Sunday night.

“Clayton was a wonderful student and member of the College of Wooster co𒆙mmunity and beloved by many,” school president Sarah Bolton said in the꧃ statement. “Our hearts are breaking, and all our prayers and thoughts are with Clayton’s family, teammates and friends.”

Geib was a starting ri𒐪gh✨t guard for the College of Wooster and helped lift the team rank in the top 30 of Division III pass offenses.

A chemistry major, Geib had made the North Coast Athletic Conference 🐻academic honor roll in both 2015 and 2016.
