Burglars use pol’s office to break into kosher deli

Burglars broke into the office of Brooklyn state Sen. Simcha Felder over🍌 the weekend — but that was just the appetizer, police said.

The thief used Felder’s second-floor office and adjacent stairwell to gain access to the popular Mechy’s deli ❀in the same building on the first floor, where they stole $5,000 but no food or merchandise.

“They certainly weren’t desperate for pastrami,” Felder deadpanned about the 1412 Ave. J break-in in🎃 Midwood.

The burglary occurre🀅d sometime between Friday night and 9 p.m. Saturday — during the Jewish sabbath.

Burglars broke down a b💙ack door and got into a stairwell leading up to Felder’s second-story office, police said.

They then busted a hole in the stairwell wall, and climb𝓀ed through into Mechy’s 𒉰deli on the first floor.

Felder inspe🌜cted his office and the premises around m💛idnight on Sunday.

“Someone broke into the building. They broke into the office next door to ours and they broke into my ofꦦfice and messed up the papers in our office,” Felder said.

Felder susp🍎ected the buglars were after cash, noting that Friday before Shabbat is the ♉busiest time for a Jewish deli.

He said he was skeptical of 🧸city stats showing that crime is down.

“Crime is spiking all over the place. I can’t remember the🌺 last time I heard abo𓂃ut so many break-ins.,” Felder said.

He suspected drug addicts may be the culprit.

“People are desperate,” he said.
