President Trump blasted the “Fake News Media” on Sunday for not reporting “positive things,” including how his tax cut plan is fattening the wallets of Americans.
“So many positive things going on for the U.S.A. and the Fake News Media just doesn’t want to go there,” he . “Same negative stories over and over again! No wonder the People no longer trust the media, whose approval ratings are correctly at their lowest levels in history! #MAGA.”
He also claimed that more than 4 million Americans have benefited from the tax cuts Congress passed in December, a number White House Legislative Affairs Director Marc Short touted on NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier Sunday.
“4.2 million hard working Americans have already received a large Bonus and/or Pay Increase because of our recently Passed Tax Cut & Jobs Bill….and it will only get better! We are far ahead of schedule,” Trump .
Short ran through a list of Trump’s accomplishments on NBC, including the budget deal, repeal of the individual mandate in ObamaCare and the defeat of the Islamic State in the Middle East.
“In the last six months, we have seen 4.2 million Americans receive either a bonus or a paper wage increase,” Short said.
Trump’s tweet comes as his administration, including Chief of Staff John Kelly, has been criticized for how it handled allegations that surfaced against White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter last week that he physically abused his ex-wives.
Porter resigned last Wednesday a day after the claims came to light last Tuesday.
